UK Seafood Fund – Fleet modernisation – engine replacement and engine modification.

DEFRA has now announced round 3 of the Infrastructure funding, part of the UK Seafood fund, which is designed to modernise commercial marine fishing vessels by replacing diesel engines manufactured before 2016 with newer diesel and petrol marine engines and/or electric and hybrid drive solutions.

Now open to vessels over 10m, the funding window will close on the 13th of December 2023, with up to £160,000 or 90% of the costs for hybrid systems, or 50% to a maximum of £80,000 available for conventional diesel marine engines. What funding is available, and to who?

For hybrid solutions up to a Maximum of £160,000 or 90% of the costs. For conventional diesel marine engines up to 50% to a maximum of £80,000.

What driveline components are eligible for funding?

Complete Propulsion solutions including the Engine, Gearbox, and Hybrid solutions to replace complements manufactured before 2016.

Does my vessel qualify?

Funding was only previously available to vessels below 10m. The funding is now open to all commercial marine fishing vessels.

What are the steps I need to take to secure funding?

Grants are available until the 13th of December to a maximum of £2 Million. Once the threshold has been reached no more grants will be available. Talk to our team today to start your application.

Is there a limit on engine size?

There are no limits on the size of the engine available for the grant.
